Grape variety
100% Merlot from a 3 hectares (7.5-acre) vineyard planted in 1995 at a density of 7.000
vines per hectare (2,800 plants per acre), trained in “Alberello” system.
Harvest
Hand-harvested in small crates, generally during the last week of September, choosing only the
healthiest and most ripe clusters. This wine is produced only in the most optimal vintages.
Winemaking process
Soft press and destemming. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at a max. temperature of 30°C., then transferred into French barriques of new cooperage, where it matures for 12-15 months.
It is bottled unfiltered and it rests in the bottle for over 1 year before release.
Wine profile notes
Intense purple color with ruby and violet hues. The multi-layered fruity and floral aromas
offer notes of raspberries, currants, spice and a well integrated toasty undertones.
The mouth-feel is velvety, with firm yet fine and ripe tannins.
